David,

At what point is a new customer added to the customer count reported at the end of a quarter: when a contract is signed, when the customer is first connected, or is there another event?

Also, when is revenue first recognized from a new customer?

eric

i want to thank mr. kunkel for reporting to this thread. imo, it's very appropriate thing for mgt. to do as this group is just as important as the customers of a private brokerage. we have a right to corporate guidance.

i also want to encourage people to accept the fact that he can't get into certain stuff like earnings predictions and so forth. so lets not run him off. we're better having mgt. connected to our discussion than not.

Congratulationse PSIX for communicating openly with potential and existing shareholders. This is hopefully something we will see more of from other firms; rather than hiding behind press releases and annual meetings no one can get to.

Hopefully the experience will lead to mutual rewards between PSIX and investors.

Mr. Kunkel:

If my comments are a bit troubling, it is only because I am more than a bit troubled by our stock's performance. I apologize in advance if my exasperation betrays itself in these postings from time to time.

In the spirit of this new glasnost between PSINet and its shareholders, are you able to acknowledge --or refute-- a $30 buy-out offer made to PSINet some months ago which was declined because certain PSINet senior management were not assured positions of authority in the new entity?

If this is false (and it could very well be), then I stand corrected. But how about setting the record straight on this?
