A couple of recent posts from the YAHOO board, FYI:

SMU. We are not the customer but are responsible for all of the coordination between the aircraft/seat/entertainment manufacturers.

Just last week I overheard a Boeing engineer say that "AI is by far the most organized seat outfit in this industry." And so far we
concurr. Granted, the seat industry is known for very sloppy organization, but given that AI is off to the right start. And they couldn't
possibly be profitable yet, they are just starting the work!

2. "I disagree about the airline seating prospects. As it is, SMU can't handle the current order levels. I feel that the
worldwide demand for seats is growing at a substantial rate. BEAV scraps can make a big business for SMU. They booked $72 MM
in orders
this year. Their long term capacity is $80 MM annually and that is several years from now. I believe that airlines are placing
future orders just to be in the SMU queue. Airlines have the greater risk that SMU will choose only a few airline venders and the
rest will have to look elsewhere for seats. SMU already services Amer West, TWA, Delta and British Air (small). I do agree that
the big opportunity is ITS and I believe that SMU is already over halfway to their goal of 10% with BMW and VW."

The thread is not an active as this one, but they do have some "scuttlebutt", and other opinions; not much one does not already know from here. (Better start polishing up that "Most Organized" award, huh...... ??!!! <G>)
