China has a huge domestic market.. I guess they cannot make that work.. ?

Sure, they "can"... but, that doesn't mean that the "rules of success" are any different with a focus inside China than they are with focus outside of it ? So, if doing what need to "maintain control" conflicts with "market requirement to be competitive"... there isn't anywhere to hide from that... by turning inward ?

And, that's obviously more true... if your market is 70% of the world... and you choose, intending to or not... to cause that share to shrink to 35%... You might well declare that "making it work" (if you are CCP and manage to avoid close encounters with lampposts) ... even with the tyranny in the numbers disallowing that as the reality if making that choice vs. another alternative not deterministically causing that ? Of course, the internal market isn't isolated from the economic drivers in the externally focused in export ? What's required to better compete externally... isn't irrelevant in that, internally.

If all the manufacturing and export related jobs disappear... along with the capital flows enabling them... what does that do to the "huge domestic market" ?

That's all still the "mechanistic" in math... nothing to do about "what being competitive requires"... which is different now than it used to be... ?

But, the tyranny of the math isn't absolute... rather than imposed by choice requiring it ?

rarely you are trivial.. but you do live in the most successfully propagandized country ever :0))

Expect that's a bit more of a universal problem than yours suggests... certainly see far more aggressive and overt efforts made elsewhere... although Mr. Assange may disagree. Perhaps efforts are less successful elsewhere in the degree of both more overt and more aggressive, meaning fooling fewer people... not trying to hide it, but rub their noses in it... ?

Seeing some of that here, now... in effort... not seemingly working... but, opposite in hoped for impact.

But, if what I am seeing here with this "surreptitious" effort that has been being carried out... as deliberate policy with purposeful backing... is making us out to be the...

most successfully

it means... they're failing pretty badly in their "best effort"... and I've been far too pessimistic about what I should expect in result of the obvious disintegration of their effort as that is ongoing...

Early excess in optimism that "the internet changes everything"... driving "free speech for the world"... was clearly overblown... as it did not upend "state media" control... which adapted, over time... more blatantly in "control" jurisdictions... more covertly here... where freedom we have... has been made more theoretical rather than practical... as a function of business structures and corporate/ government over-reach...but in opposition to requirement and expectation.

Too early to tell where its going... as not yet fully developed pictures show outlines not details...

And, now... AI set to change that landscape again... not, that I can see, with it having any obvious ability to alter the tilt in the field... as (above) being a separate issue... but, also, not without requiring that tilt be made more plain...

The Chat GPT instance we can see... is tuned to impose Bill Gates view on what we should not talk about... and that's mostly been a source of comedy, thus far... clearly won't survive contact with competition in "actual function" versus "we control your thinking, for you, so you don't have to"...

What happens when it melds with the internet being asked now... not answered...

But, I like my construction of it as "better decision calculator"... functioning as a sieve of dysfunction... also meaning those depending on imposition of dysfunction... are not competitive in future...

if anything causes the fail of America .. that will be it

Hope so. I'm pretty well counting on it. "These ARE the (media / pol / banker) droids... and the failure... you are looking for" ? But, then, we may have significantly different expectations in relation both to what the fail of "America" actually means, in context of where we are now... what is likely to fail... as also to probable failure modes... and the aftermath... given the tilt in the field is what it is...

Failure... and purposeful recognition of it... are essential elements in enabling "correction"... the need for which (broadly) has long been apparent... and the need for which has long been denied... with the point of it being "advantage for some" bought at "the expense of others"... and need for change being required in that formulation... and the politics enabling it...

And, now... "America" needing change... is suddenly back to "the entire world" needing change ?

The gyrations we see occurring now... viruses and wars... all about tag teaming while trying to buy time to "fix" that thing that's broken... that they haven't been able to figure out how to fix ?

"Great Reset" plans floated thus far... all make China's "secret" spy balloons look like soaring successes...

So, "failure"... when it finally comes... invited or not... might well be paired with "unintended consequences"... as "the best laid plans"... ?
