Don't think I ever had an exchange with Tim, but this is very sad to hear. It's shocking actually, given he posted 19 messages up to 4:30 p.m. on the day he died. Not a mention of any medical trouble in them. And sad for his parents, who've lost a third child of theirs now according to Tim's obit. fairfaxmemorialfuneralhome.com Tragic all around.

So young. A real tragedy. His family must be devastated. My heart goes out to them. Tim was a valued member of the SI community. Very knowledgeable, willing to share and always civil. Always civil. He will be missed.
