Hi Simon:

This market has been friendly since 7580. However, I think I will take a little break from here. Asia needs to calm down a bit. I still see a strong market where cats and dogs fly but just feel unsettled about next week. Lam Research was up for the day a while back. Put that together with AMAT and I believe we are seeing a sort of religious cleansing. I think it goes like this. They confess their weaknesses, ask forgiveness, take steps to amend their ways, and are forgiven. It never worked for me when I was a kid.

On the other hand, take a look at CDG--a playmate of mine. It appears to be waving a flag of surrender but no one is willing to let up on it. It may be waiting for war and not forgiveness to revive it.

give it the heave ho>>> I keep watching the S & P. Usually it is about 10/1 to the Dow. It has been down 4-5 most of the day while the dow floats up and down. The avg person "watches" the Dow. Looks like the transports ran out of gas this morning after being up 25.

Bearshark:
Now that Alaska Air has had its run and everybody has quit salivating.
The Trans. buckled today. Up 25 then down 30? Looks like the end of the run for them. Kernan said maybe a truck co. or rail would step up to the plate. Not likely.//
Been pondering what caused the big buy programs yesterday. Trans. up 85 or so. Dow and S&P down. Jack the latter up quick to make the mkt look good. Today looks like a "lay" day. Be cool just before the long weekend. Finally got the dow ^ .50. Wow, that's a barn burner. Sounded good on evening news though.// CBS evening news sent me into shock. Dow + .50,S&P+8.90,Nas + 16.00 something. How could that happen in last 5 minutes? Must have been for the week or yesterday or something.//
Just remember folks: Keep those cards and DOLLARS flowing into your friendly Mutual fund. (I heard the bond funds got a lot of it) T.Rowe Price warning people not expect 20 % gain again this year.//
Somebody on CNBC (guest) said something about the movie "Titanic" and a correlation to the stock market. They all broke out laughing about that. Strange, I had the same thought the other day. "Twas a saaad day when the great ship went down." Song might become popular again? It was, after all unsinkable. Kind of like this market, unstoppable. Could be an iceberg floating in the water next week.//
Now to the important things: Got to install a new modem in #2 machine.
Brand X. $ 40 minus $ 20 rebate. It don't have to work well, just work.
