My first computer had only a tape drive, 1500 baud, it was from Radio Shack. It came with 16k memory, and I soldered on another 16k to I could live high off the hog. I bought that in 1980, pre PC-era. I friend had an Apple 2e I think it was called, a better looking machine and more widely adopted.

For cryptos... does the world really need any more gambling/speculating tokens/items/etc.? Not really... what it needs is this:

1) reliable and stable deferred store of purchasing power
2) cannot be debased by gov't
3) cannot be stolen by gov't
4) can be stored and protected reliably with ability for loved ones/spouse/heirs to inherit
5) can be used in multiple countries, even if it's local currency conversions
6) cannot be subjected to currency controls, export controls, etc.

-- this includes preventing simple stuff like somebody hijacking your phone and draining your wallet etc.

Essentially this is money for the people.

Blockchain perhaps is the way to get there.
