I am not the kind of person who is big into celebrating anyone. People ask me what do you do on Christmas and I tell them I celebrate my mom's birthday (yes, she's xmas baby). So ya, I don't see why they should be celebrated. What I think is happening is two things: (1) People in LGBTQ circles celeberate them b/c they want to encourage more people to come out and through this make it more socially acceptable and "normal". (2) Some businesses jump on the bandwagon to use it for their marketing and make more money. Either way, the celebrators have an interest in it. As for me, I neither disseminate against nor celebrate for. And that is where it will eventually land. For now it is too new.
