For example, what will you feel when your wife, parents or daughters are forced to spy you for the government?

In fact this just happened in Minnesota and no one ( least of all me ) is complaining.

A school teacher was suspected of having sex with students. A girl was fitted with a recorder ( by the government ) and sure enough, he lured her to his house and started putting the moves on her.

He hasn't been convicted yet so from the Government's point of view he is innocent. I, not having those same constitutional constraints, have judged him guilty and expect he will be spending a long time with a bunk buddy more his own age.

James, first of all, lets get to this issue of "most Americans". This is hearsay. Everybody that has a wit of sense understands that polls are the most politicized tools of statistical crapola that were ever invented. This thread certainly doesn't reflect the implied 79/21 ratio that you repeatedly hide behind. Even if, and this is a stretch for me, there were some truth to that metric, it would be appropriate for you to defend the right of the minority to express their sense of outrage with regard to this scandal. This is freedom of expression. It works. The right people will hear, and Congress will move. In the meantime we're gonna have some fun.

This issue of innocence before the law belongs in a court room. We are not there. What's going on is a bunch of high level political posturing and a legally sponsored investigation that's uncovering issues of sleaze and issues of high crimes and misdemeanors allegedly perpetrated within the highest office of the land.

We are the public. We have a right to discourse, grouse if you will, about how we think that sleazeball has sullied our trust and respect. We most assuredly don't have to wait for some more appropriate time to denigrate this pathetic cast of immoral characters inhabiting what should be a sacred place where character morality and leadership should reign supreme.

He's the one you should be tweaked about, tell it to da man.

<< Most Americans are sensing that, so they support President Clinton. It's not about sex, moral, or even violation of the law, it's about human decency and dignity should be protected and respected no matter who you are. >>

It's about character and honesty. Should (I say when) it become convincing that he lied about there being a sexual relationship, the "polls" will tell a vastly different story. Surely you believe that some people don't deserve "decency and dignity".

Wrong James:

>President Clinton has said that he did not lie and did not have sex with Monica.<

He said he did not have sex with THAT woman.

James, my views on Clinton and his crew are shaped by an amateur's interest in political philosophy and economics. I consider them parasitic scum, at best. Neither Clinton has proposed an initiative that would not work against America's long term interest. Quite the contrary.

I find it repulsive that the clown has made certain sexual practices a common subject for discussion. If he goes down (?) just for the bimbo issue, that's OK by me. Hey, it worked for Capone.
