Nobody ever paid even close to the marginal rate. Especially the rich who had a rich set of tax dodges provided by their pals in Congress.

Top tax rate was 91%. When that rate drops you have incentive to put your competition out of business. Because there is no limit to what you can make by doing this. Corner the whole market.

That's why you get walmarts and amazons that put all the mom and pop small business under.

If these huge corporations are taxed a high rate, they have no incentive to grow enough to destroy capitalism.

Which is what they have done. They people that fought WW2 for freedom and capitalism knew this, that's why they set the tax rate there at the top.

Conservatives have forgotten this the donations from these huge monopolies have given them amnesia, so they don't tax them at all and just print the money. Democrat's are also guilty of this.

They only way you become a billionaire is to take a portion of many people work. It's the only way.
