Mike,

When I say that the Gulf War was orchestrated, I mean that it was a war played to the media and to the populace. Remember the presidentially mandated press pools? Remember the sanitized reporting of how our missiles struck their targets surely and decisively, and we saw it "all" on television? Remember how the war was exactly 100 days in length and at that point Kuwait was free, we had our oil back, and all was right with the world?

I think we went to the Gulf when we did and did what we did for a lot of reasons that had nothing to do with jobs (remember, "It's not about oil, it's about jobs?") or with freeing Kuwait. I have always questioned the timing factor and our stated reasons for being there when we were, as well as President Bush's post war stances and statements heard from his own lips.

I'd have to dig up some old video tapes and press clippings to get into more detail with accuracy, but just these facts should clarify part of what I meant by that statement.
