Kane,

Trust me, never mess with a Bull, he'll tear you apart. Don't get into Rob's league and pretend to know something you don't. Even the most novice technology investor knows there are differences in the equipment requirements for a memory company and a logic company. The Oregon fab is THE key strategic lever for a move from a company that was over 50% commodity memory to a value added supplier of integrated circuits. Do you know how long it takes to develop the internal expertise and processes to produce these more complex parts? You don't just flip a switch, it takes time and hands on experience. Len and his team knew this and that is why they kept moving forward and because of this they have a 3 year lead on every other company trying to diversify out of commodity memory (not to mention the distance they have put between themselves and companies like CY who only recently began shipping .35mu parts while IDT is SHIPPING .25mu). Don't try and defend Rob's statements of ignorance, it is a losing fight.
