Janice, obviously rape is a crime, but it's not her crime. It is a crime against her of course. But you disagree that rape is humiliating to the victim? Come on.

What it has to do with Bill Clinton is that James has been claiming that the pursuit of Justice should not include the "indecent indignity" of calling a suspect's mother (Ms. Lewis) before a grand jury. And yes, Monica is suspected very strongly of perjury, so in this case she is an official "target", or suspect.

James thinks that suffering indignities is beyond what is called for in the pursuit of justice. I say in the rape trial example that discomfort among both accusers and the accused is nothing new to the administration of justice.

Then again, James also thinks that mocking the President is "immoral".
