Hi Bill : SGD earned 0.15/eps on 4Q sales SGD's dividend / buy-back announcement reveals 4Q 97 earnings from sales alone was 0.15/share : " Mr. Goldstein stated that the ten cent dividend is equal to approximately 28% of the Company's after tax operating income of $0.36 a share for 1997 vs. $0.13 per share for 1996. During 1997, in addition to the $0.36 a share , the Company had non-recurring income of $0.24 a share, for a total net income of $.60 a share in 1997 compared to a loss of $0.09 a share in 1996. " biz.yahoo.com 4Q 97 expenses were heightened by added TV advertising which should bring increased 1Q 98 sales revenues. 4Q 96 EPS was EPS 0.19 . SGD expects further EPA insurance recovery in 1998 . With 5 consecutive profitable quarters , a good dividend history and a clever buy-back in place I expect to see SGD at $ 5.50 near term . 4Q 97 may also have had a EPA payment in its expenses which has now been paid in full . Bill SGD has lots of new 1998 advt. promotions SGD is promoting its cash cow "Scott's Liquid Gold" wood cleaner & preservative product with nationwide newspaper couponing . It offers a .50 rebate along with a "Application Cloth". What is more interesting is that SGD is using rebate info to build a data base for product newsletter mailings. My Wahini just received Alpha Hydrox's "Skinsations" newsletter which announced NEW AHA products along with directed couponing. Looks like SGD's 1998 will be a high revenue year. Jim K.

Family lawsuit settlement near ? Board meeting Wednesday , AGM 5/6/98 SGD's annual report p. 11 and p. 21 devalues the merits of the Brook's case of a 1971 "oral" promise to "get rich" for divulging a "idea" . Consulting payments were paid '97 - $15K ; '96 - $60K ; '95 - $60K to Dr. Brooks making the fraudulent intent allegation suspect . Those payment amounts , not promised in writing to be increased during a 10-year "joint venture" , makes Dr Brook's $14 mln claim on 10 years of AHA profits hard to sustain . Any thoughts ?
