I have never seen an EIDE SyJet, nor a parallel port Jaz, but I did go to CompUSA today and count SparQs. They had about the same shelf presence as last week. 20 PP and 12 EIDE SparQs.

IOM also had about the same shelf presence, and more than 120 Zips on display. There were perhaps 20 Jaz drives, and more than that of Ditto Max. Either this CompUSA is a dud, or peripheral sales are slow right now.

>>EIDE wins PC World Awards
In the latest issue of Pc World the EIDE Syjet was awarded for best overall removable in its class. It beat out the Jazz for storage costs, speed and performance. The only downside was the cartridges if dropped had a tendancy to suffer bad clusters.

It was also amazing to find out the parallel version of the Syjet trounced the parallel version of the Jazz by a wide margin. <<

Last I heard, the SyJet and Jaz are both SCSI only devices...
have they begun producing EIDE versions?
