Dwight and All,

This URL will take you to other links, and you will be saturated with more information re the JFK assassination than you ever wanted to know. <vbg>

It should go without saying that some of the links are more informative and balanced in content than others.

J. Edgar Hoover was considered a great hero in his own time. One thing that was always drummed home to us on the streets was that he ran under a lean and mean budget and stayed within it and he always got his man. Of course, they told us other things too, and we believed it all . . . then.

Anthony Summers has written an excellent book on J. Edgar Hoover, but can't think of it's title just now. Summers has also written one of the better books on the JFK assassination, "Conspiracy."

Maybe why nobody exposed him is because they didn't want to start a
dirt war; a "sexual armaggedon", like I think it was William Bennett himself suggested may happen if people don't back off Clinton.

That seems to have been pretty much the way things were. J. Edgar was a LOT better at spying on people than Linda Tripp may ever dream of being. And he had considerable connections with organized crime, which didn't hurt. A really exemplary person...
