if you are directly related to Suharto, either by blood or by financial interest, you belong to the unorthodox group with the ability to exchange rupiah into foreign currency, at the peg rate.

if you are not in the above crowd, then you have just been orthodox"ed". Convert to christianity and pray that your rupiah will be worth more than toilet paper one day.

Seriously, I visited Indonesian about 3 years ago. Despite the anti-Chinese sentiments, I find Indonesian warm and genuine. It is disheartening to think about the tough times ahead of them.
