Before that, each of the British colonies had its own history, founding dates, and relationship to slavery. Contrary to what Nikole Hannah-Jones claims, America was NOT founded in 1619 with the first arrival of slaves to the British colonies. Moreover, many prominent historians have called into question the historical accuracy of the 1619 Project: en.wikipedia.org For example, the 1619 Project claims that the American Revolution was fought to protect slavery.
