"America was founded in 1776" So the Pilgrims, Virginia Dare, and the first slave ships arrived in '76? == "Before that, each of the British colonies had its own history, founding dates, and relationship to slavery" So you want to blame slavery on the Brits? OK. -- "the 1619 Project claims that the American Revolution was fought to protect slavery." Whatever happened to "No taxation without representation"? Perhaps they were thinking of the Civil War.
