It has nothing to do with lowering emissions. There is 40 years left to convert from oil. That's what it's about.

The green thing is just a sales pitch.

1950s era Nash cars got 30 + mpg... look at this one. ALL Steel no plastic. Giant steel bumpers and grill. Look how big it was!

Skirts front and rear. Rear view mirror. Hood ornament interferes with air flow. No radial tires.

Tell me why we can't increase mileage substantially now.



The reason is we're stupid.
