Of course now I can have the last laugh at 31. (or is it 28?)

Distributed platform Y2K issues ...

Mark your calendar! On Tuesday, February 24, Viasoft presents an audio and Webcast conference on distributed-platforms Y2K issues and solutions.

This must have something to do with the acquisition/licensing arrangements Viasoft recently completed. Looks like they're jumping in with both feet.

While following up on that distributed processing link, I ran across the following discussion on "ChangeWorks". Either I've been asleep lately, or Viasoft needs some more PR to get this info to the rest of the world. Sounds to me like this is a 'factory solution' knockoff.

ChangeWorks offers a unique combination of products and services that delivers an in-house, "factory-like" code conversion solution. This solution incorporates VIA/AutoChangeT (Viasoft's accelerated code change tool) and Bridge 2000T (Viasoft's century windowing tool) with Enablement Services from Viasoft to help organizations maintain control over conversion quality and cost. It offers a rate of code change comparable to those touted by external change factories, while incorporating verification to optimize conversion throughput. With Changeworks, an organization starts its conversion under the guidance of Viasoft, but handles - and controls - most of project in-house.
