One of my college friends has been and he's a MEGA red hat person who claims to be a friend and done business with John Chambers (another red hat.) I think he did one of those catered turnkey camps where you pay people to do the hard stuff. Some don't like it but I believe the event organizers appreciate the fees they can get for the large, catered groups. It really is a huge city that you need a bike or hours to hike and see everything. Don't worry, those liberals won't miss us. But I think the original organizers who still run it are... they have a note on the site to "encourage" those who make fame from their videos of the event to include more than just the traditional good looking people with no clothes. Read their website if interested. Me... I'll tell Sports Illustrated I'm not interested in seeing WalMart shoppers in bathing suits in their Swimsuit issue any more than I am interested in reading about local duffers over Tiger Woods. So, if anyone has a good YouTube channel with "the traditionally beautiful people" highlighted, I'm interested.

What a mess! The live feed went down to conserve power. My guess is the rain blocked the solar. Burners are sheltering in place in water logged tents... Burning Man 2023 rain keeps burners confined to camps (rgj.com) “No driving is permitted on playa except for emergency vehicles,” event organizers said in a 5 a.m. statement. “If you are in (Black Rock City), please shelter in place and stay safe.”They added separately: “If you are in BRC, conserve food and water, shelter in a warm space.”The road closures appeared to have forced a halt to cleaning and servicing of the thousands of port-a-potties used by attendees who spent Friday night huddled in muddy tents and RVs as the temperature dropped into the low 50s.The conditions immediately drew comparisons to the 2017 Fyre Festival, an ill-fated party in the Bahamas, subject of multiple documentaries.The muddy Burning Man conditions also forced the small airport serving the event to halt operations... Cell phone service is virtually nonexistent at the event, and only a few people have access to satellite internet for updates. Place your bets for how long until Trump is blamed...
