Our artillery in this area can't operate as calmly and methodically because of the enemy's effective counter-battery, relying on their abundant aircraft drones, "Himars", and guided munitions of 155mm caliber. Our side can quickly fire at the advancing enemy groups, but then the artillery quickly hands over to tanks, essentially self-propelled vehicles with anti-shell armor, which finish off whoever they can from concealed positions. Again, tanks also can't operate as methodically because they are within the reach of enemy FPV (First Person View drones).
Consequently, whether they are defending their own positions or the enemy's captured positions on their defensive front, even if there are bunkers, they sit in maximally camouflaged individual pits under the greenery. They dig as many of these pits as possible for each person in different locations because, in any case, the enemy spots these from the air.
And do you know what the political officers from deep space said after hearing about this reality? They said, "Then these materials should be hanging on a tree where you sit..." and added a phrase that warmed the hearts of the headquarters staff: "WE WILL CHECK!"
The headquarters staff of this unit, as I already mentioned, people who have seen some stuff, including before their military service, collectively pictured how these political officers from deep space would make their way to positions where food, water, ammunition, and radio batteries are delivered only once every 2-3 days. They had a good laugh.
As for the whole story, it's a postcard to our military bloggers who talk about how our situation has improved over the year. In reality, our situation has worsened significantly when not looking at detached indicators of growth but comparing to the enemy.
For understanding, citizens, military bloggers, these "sitting in pits" tactics, without trenches and bunkers, under the threat of any fortification being decimated by artillery - this is how the Ukrainians were last summer between Bakhmutka and Seversk during the period our forces were encircling the Lysychansk pocket. The aerial view was exactly the same, and our artillery, guided by "Mavics" (DJI Mavic drones), was picking them off or dispersing them without consequences. In a year, the Ukrainians not only received a lot of good artillery from their allies, but they also established a system to manage this artillery and the operations of a large number of aerial drones for the benefit of artillery reconnaissance and counter-battery fire. And we are lagging behind fatally."
