My concern with Dell is that ASP continue to decline and that revs will not keep up as price elasticity changes from historic norms. I listened to the president of SCI recently and he talked about their turnarounds being 48 hours currently and dropping to 24 hrs at the end of the year. They are working with OEMs for a 18 hr then 12hr turnarounds to combat Dell (albeit the have Dell as a customer). He also said they are working on delivering $699 pentium 2 w 2 gig of storage "fully loaded" this summer....
Dell has a better model and price declines have not hurt them, but can this truly hold up?
Lastly, I am a big believer that Nokia is the next Dell. So what is to distinguish Dell from the internet compatible $300 cell phone of the future (2-4 yrs)? In fact it could be offered for free by some carriers.
