Things have changed A LOT in the past 20 years.

They are still trying to get people here to return to the office on a hybrid schedule. I've heard some very interesting stories of entitlement such as a gal who wanted full pay for a tech job but needed paid time to wait in coffee lines, walk her dog and then get home early to have dinner waiting for her husband. I think she felt about 4 hours a day of actual work was about right. My guess is she wanted more than equal pay then used the gender card to say she was entitled to paid time to please her husband while they were young with no kids yet. Others want you to memorize their pronouns and take offense if you can't remember how to use them properly.

If we/you complain you can be labeled as a boomer, racist, homophobe and/or misogynist. There are probably some others I forgot about.

Oh, and here the governor had trouble getting teachers to work because they used the fear of covid and their powerful teacher's unions to keep the schools closed while Governor Newsom sent his four kids to private schools that stayed open.

You can't fire all the teachers because the poor and middle class can't afford private schools.... hence the frequent strikes here despite the education results that get worse every year it seems.
