Sure if information changes you maybe change your opinion of how long you believe you'll be in.

What if there's information, as there will be, but the stock price does not move up?

"Today maybe I think in 18 months this stock will go up 50% for various reasons. I have a view like this on SIMO now."

I can tell you how long I intend to be in for. If there's no real improvement in SIMO stock price by 3/'24, I will sell. That's two years' for me, and I won't wait longer. And if I can point to some adverse news before then that craters the stock price, I'll likely sell at that time.
