Benard,
I hate to say it, but I never thought about venture capitalists jumping into the bidding process behind a limited partnership with no past income. I think you are correct about the bidding being less robust because of this. However, its makes sense from their stand point to own the asset rather then the loan from a company that owns it. Must mean that the asset is rather valuable in their eyes. Do they have to retain it, or can they sell it? What will the money boys do with it? That is the real question in my mind. From Shant's point of view, it appears they will retain it for the time being. Maybe they will start companies and take those companies public. Maybe they want to be the next AT&T. Makes you wonder what is in their minds. Whatever it is they plan to make money on it. They do not intend to take a big risk in the process. They must see the vision and they want the vision.

Gotta watch skiing!

Bernard,
I keep coming back to this post in my mind and thinking you are right. So I decided to actually find the post and just say: "You are right. The capital venture community appears to have pulled it off at this point." Now we will have to wait and see if they will do something with it or just sell it for a good profit. Hope they develop it. They are in a good position to finance the build out of LMDS systems.
