He also had a personal physician ( the original Dr Feel Good) who pumped him full of, ah, other stuff.

The good Dr. went on to treat many other Hollywood types and eventually lost his license.

Speaking of FDR, an historian was on this noon hour on NPR. One tidbit he mentioned was that there exists a wire recording of FDR talking with his advisors about spreading gossip about Wendal Wilkee's affairs and other marital problems. It was rumored he had to pay his wife $200 to get her to accompanied him to church ( and have the event photographed).
