It might just end up being a wild speculation, but I am suspicious of all the accumulation taking place when there are better opportunities elsewhere.

From the 10Q for last quarter, it appears that there was a $12M charge for the graphics reorganization (I think mainly because they closed seperate graphics offices not in Fremont), offset by a similar gain from divesting Nuera, and there were some other gains and charges related to these matters, including "reversals" of accrued charges made in the March 1997 quarter. This wasn't clear in the press release of the quarter results. Cost-wise this reorganization seems to have been almost comparable to the ones in early 1997 and 1996. It seems the graphics infrastructure was a really ugly mess.
