Obviously someone has gotten to Steel!!

Or perhaps someone got to Willey much earlier? Remember: at the moment she was in quite desperate financial straits. She's since retracted what she said about harassment, as I understand it. One must consider all of the possibilities.

Jim, can you or someone who knows something of the facts in the Kathleen Willey case try to cast some light on Steel's statement?

I was quite puzzled by this, since Willey was a VERY reluctant witness in the Jones case, who did not come forward on her own, did not want to testify at all, and seemed disheveled but sort of flattered at the president's intentions, according to Linda Tripp, who ran into her outside of the Oval Office with her blouse untucked and her make-up smeared.

So this just doesn't make logical sense, does it?
