Xwitter catch up... Nothing has changed fundamentally because a bond trader took profits. Earnings still declining, deficits rising, tax loss selling looming. Wouldn't surprise me to see TGA drop tomorrow night and find out Treasury increased liquidity to stem the market decline. When you issue T-bills, you have to keep in mind the market for those bills. When some small country like Argentina issues 100-year bonds, it's a drop in a lake. If the US did it, it would be like a 100-year rain. You can't issue T-bills unless you have a market ready to absorb them. The markets are more the determinants of the duration length than the Treasury itself.
