Larry, let me put it succinctly, Saddam Hussein is a "Murderous Thug", he started murdering with his own hands at the age of 12 and has not stopped until he got to the position where he delegated the job to underlings. It is a different question if it is our job to go around the word and eliminate all "Murderous Thugs", and whether we include in this category those that practice murder with their own hands or delegate it to others. According to some recent writing by St Exup‚ry (courtesy of Worsick on the Asia thread), Mitterand belong to the latter category and bear major responsibility for the Rwanda genocide.

Larry, If my memory serves me correctly, I think the only war we had with you guys , we won, So watch your ass.
Now,, Here we go again, I was according to you , " speaking nonsense, making incorrect claims, Uncle seems to be very choosy about the bad guys, .. My first glimpse of SH, was a headline on the front of a local rag that stated "HUSSEIEN INSANE" , right away my paranoia rises to the surface and says , Why don't you let me decide that, immediately I suspect a hidden agenda , and feel like my limited intelligence is being discounted, I find this type of news , at the very least , questionable, IMHO this story seems to continue. Strange how most of the rest of the world, except vested interests seems to now concur with my thinking.
<<Considerable cost to the US taxpayer>> . ,, And who might be profiting from this considerale cost , I wonder??
<<Eliminate weapons of mass destruction>> If the US in all it's sanctity would say that they wish to remove all weapons of Mass destruction on the planet, Then they would have my unequivocal vote.

<< I do understand that capitalism is the only proven way to
effectively bake the pie of prosperity. It is also moral. >>
In this rich young land of ours that would appear to be true, however there are a lot of more pure capitalist countries in for example S.A, where you could very possibly be questioned on that belief. Russia had reached a pinnacle of pure capitalism IMO, in the end they had nothing to lose but their chains. IMO they tried an experiment that failed , but I'm not so sure that we as humans , and particularly in N.A have all the answers at all. Our land is very young and had not been depleted hundreds of years ago. IMo this gives us a false sense of unending prosperity, and as our egos would wont , of course attributes this prosperity to our clever decisions. I wonder what will happen when there is not enough pie. So you see , I am looking at long term ends.
We laugh at the thought of Egyptian slaves, building pyramids and put ourselves above them, or Chinese building walls, or slaves picking cotton. Most of us are now chained to a desk and monitor for the best part of our days, according to Gates and the crew we are advanced,, Someday history will see us in the same light as we view the Egyptians.
BTW,, where are you guys in Nagano,, we're cleaning up, Eh
