Jim, I think you made a Boo Boo.

Ref...As of Feb2 this was 326.4M shares plus the 30M shares for options. This gives 356.4M shares.

Now unless things have changed we need to use a weighted average not the number of shares outstanding. Then add the number to cover the options.

Would you care to revise your earnings calculation or set me straight?

Pat

Nice analysis-thanks-I agree-I do not type too well I have been buying buying Dell for 7 years now-have a bit less than 200000 shares in my accounts( I have my own one-man -full-service brokerage office)-a lot my own -Dell just was made # 1 long term hold on Merrill 's list. To me that means they could be unloading--I used to be a sr-v.p of investments at Merrill ---- IT'S JUST ANOTHER ASSET GATHERING MACHINE-IF YOU DO SEPARATE ACCOUNTS THERE YOU ARE PERSONA-NON-GRATA I personally believe they recommend" to sell " and disparage" to buy". 40 years of wisdom in that remark!Regards --to all good Dellaholics like myself.
