BRIEF HISTORY OF "DID SLICK BOINK MONICA ?"

In the Beginning When They Were Just Starting Out

Back in '68 I think it was, two young entrepreneurs, (Bob and Not Bob), had a vision. After failing to obtain maximum security clearances with the United States Government, they decided to "step out over the edge", and start making tasteless college-toilet-humor-style jokes about famous people. Their efforts meeting with complete and utter disdain, they moved on to the Big Time and the DID SLICK BOINK MONICA? thread was born. For an in-depth accounting of the day-to-day trials and fibulations of these two ne'r-do-wells in the Great Scheme of Things, see:

The Birth of the Thread

Time passed, as it so often will, or should we say shall. From their large comfortable offices on the outskirts of a major metropolitan city, Bob and Not Bob set out to create an enduring legacy for themselves and the little bobs and not bobs not yet born into this wild yet sometimes psychotic world. Step One in the Giant Overall Plan: get into an argument about something completely meaningless, ensuring that you get some facts mixed up but its OK because I know I'm right on this I read it somewhere you can look it up goldurnit. And so, they went ahead and did that thing there. You can read about it here:

Others Join The Fight (without the spellchecker)

Others join the fight. Irregardless of there own personal social frailties, (dare we say "Great Melting Pot"), they, (the others, not the two original dudes), began the noble dialog that took them, there, eventually, (and at no small sacrifiece to theirselves, personally, we might add, as it were, so to speack), to the point at which they are now at, (notwithstanding inability to spell). The whole story, in all its uncensured spendur; (a virtual panoply of colorful and warm yet personal individuation, but not the most stellar effort to eschew obfuscation), can be seen here:

The Press Joins the Conflict

Everybody knows that we all need to see lots and lots of really really nasty and violent things all the time everywhere. Nothing is simple, everything is incredibly complex and everyone everywhere has all sorts of secret yet sophisticated plans to do us all in. There is horrible danger everywhere and nobody is safe. It's America!

And so, it is with a sense of pride and great personal revulsion, not to say despair, that we witnessed our next Miracle of Modern Information. From Tom to Peter, from Geraldo to Jerry, the Big Boys came Up from Behind with the Big Guns. Caring naught for whatever sense of sanity they may have once had, (and I don't mean that in a bad way), they began their shredding of the Great Cheese Scoop `o the Week. And believe us when we say, when you see Wolf Blitzer reporting from Baghdad in the middle of a bomb run, you know you can take personal solace in the fact that Little Jimmy and Little Judy are somewhat safer than if they lived, for example, in some other area. The Little Guys with the Little Tiny Newspapers are now just a faded memory (we hope). The Big Boys' stories, (in their own distasteful yet moronic, dare we say evil, style), can be seen in all its radiant glory here:

The Fringe and the Wings Bring Up the Rear

Others stewing in the Giant Melting Pot then came on board, as it were. Having their own say, their own "agenda", even their own magazines with their own language and so on and so forth, (some having woodys due to something we don't even want to get into here at the DID SLICK BOINK MONICA? thread), these fellows, (mostly boys, not too many girls), led by Bobby and Larry, the Overlords of the Sector, tried to scrape a little frosting off the old Birthday Cake. Their story, (over 18 only please), is here:

The Truly Disturbed Add Their Own Warm and Colorful Salvo

Finally, more time passed on. Aliens and other Nefarious Characters from the World of Science and Fiction were welcomed into the extended family. Their story, (which by the way will soon be a Made For Television Motion Picture and Based Upon Some True Facts We Found Somewhere), is here:

Meanwhile, the regulars, (and you know who you are), continued to post headlines, jokes, and off-topic nonsense like food and things like taht; while fighting a never-ending battle for Truth, Justice, and the American Way.
