Roger,
I wish I could answer all the questions you have. I do know a few things. As per the No. of people servicable by a headend I dont really know the numbers. That would be a 100% saturation. That IS possible. As it is now each nieghborhood is serviced by Fiber Nodes. If one "node" gets 100%, it can be split to allow for more room. The use of Fiber Optics is one of the keys to the operation. The aim is for about 200-300 cable customers per node. We know that the market will never reach 100% saturation(that would be nice :)).
I dont really know for sure when the S.F. area is going to be launched. We are swamped in the Livermore/Pleasanton area as it is.
The markets as they are launched are ussually available to All. that are in that market. The installing depends on how many installers there are working in the area. In our case it was 6 at launch time. We were accomplishing on average 3per installer a day. As it is now we have brought in some more help and have 8-10 crews working 5 days a week doing 4-5 installs daily. In my opinion 4-5 is about the max per "team installers". 3 per day is about the max for a "single installer". all this on a 10 hour day. Every install is different some allow for only a 1 hour install while others may take upwards of 3-5 hours, depending on cable work and the stability of the customers Computer. Gotta run right now .... food time ...
