>>>America On-Line/Intuit agreement I heard about this morning. More Exposure for Quicken.com, now Playing on the Excite Network, AOl, and CNNfn. Great exposure for the brand name. More money for Intuit from all of it's financial content partners, Mortgage, Brokers, Insurance etal... Kinda cuts into Excite, AOL users had to jump off AOL network and crossover on Excite Network to get Quicken.Com before. Now it's a button for AOL users? (I think AOL is kinda pissed at some of Excites' successes, especially the ones which have come at the expense of AOL...because Excite has more unique users than AOL..and will attack AOL from behind on a moments notice without warning...this is a payback IMO) If Intuit played into this, because of that....it was another smooth move on their part. Good News for Intuit....big time reach...not much more than before but certainly more convenient for the web user. An in your face move, exactly what you want to do with a 'button'. I feel Intuit would put that Quicken.com 'button' on the door of an outhouse if it would get them more visitors. As for Checkfree and their ultimate position in this....do they get a 'button' for on line bill pay via Quicken.com? Let me put it this way. If Intuit, after building a Quicken.com reach into Excite, AOL and CNN. Which opens doors for Prodigy, Compuserve, Web TV, Webcrawler. If they don't try to stick a 'button' out there for billpay consolidation....somebody else will. Intuit's got Insurance, Mortgages, Taxes already....look at how they are doing Insurance & Mortgages....couple partners high profile. If they do bills will they do it the same way, or go it alone? If it were me and I was Mr. Intuit, I'd partner with Integrion. Member Banks would get instant reach across the web spectrum via Quicken.Com. High profile for all the Banks and their new online services. Integrion Banks would gain, Intuit would gain, Excite would gain, AOL would gain, Checkfree would gain, The Billers would gain.....we consumers would gain. And CNN could gain...cause they could do the advertisements every morning on CNNfn the TV Program. It's a win/win/win/win/win/win/win/win situation. Unless you see a loser?
