Good question. I heard subs that were at TD can't have all my buy orders going without having capital to pay for it. They used to let you have buy limit orders if you had the funds in a MM fund but they really want you to keep it in the trading bucket that doesn't pay very much interest, so they make it difficult. I haven't looked lately since I only take profits in positions at Schwab and do the trading at Fidelity where the tools and interest rate in their "trading account" are superior. Vanguard's brokerage account feels decades behind those...

You still get 1.30% base rate plus the 2.96% annualized rate of inflation for the next six months.

They are not a bad deal given no state taxes plus a Fed tax deferral until you cash them in 1 to 30 years later.

As a bonus, you have some inflation protection and if we go back to zero rates, that 1.3% base rate is golden as deflation protection!
