Ali; I will send you some stuff later, I am on my portable now, away from my home machine. It has to do with optimization for the specific purpose of making benchmarks rate you hiher than you should be.

Ali, re:<Z-D benchmarks use GENERAL PURPOSE APPLICATIONS>

Yes, they do, but IMO, the application set for Winstone '98 is seriously flawed.

Winstone '97..........Winstone '98
CorelDRAW6...........CorelDRAW7
MS PowerPoint95.....MS PowerPoint97
AdobePagemaker6....CorelQuattroPro7
MS Access 7.............MS Access 97
MS Excel 7.0............MS Excel 97
BorlandParadox7......Lotus123 97
MS Word 7.0............MS Word 97
Lotus WordPro96......Corel Word Perfect 7

Notice the following:
1. The '97 suite used Microsoft(4), Adobe(1), Corel(1), Borland (1) and Lotus(1) products. The '98 suite drops Adobe and Borland. Less diversity of manufacturers.

2. The '98 suite is ridiculously overweighted in spreadsheet -- THREE OF EIGHT APPLICATIONS

3. If anything should have been changed, Netscape Communicator should have been added (intranet based, so its independent of WWW access)

4. The '98 suite is now underweighted in document generation, because Pagemaker was dropped in favor of another spreadsheet.
