I'm all for smaller turkeys. It's hard to find a 10 lb turkey around here. Did you know that there is a job called a turkey walker? Birds are now so dumb they will sit in the sun and die so kids walk around in the flocks to keep them moving. Also some turkeys will walk into a fence and stand there instead of turning. Where I live there are more hogs in the county than people and every one of them is inside. Some drawbacks, like getting down wind of 75,000 hogs on a hot day and it's nose draining time.
