Jefferson and Washington had slaves. And they were the best and brightest of the day. Despite being slave owners ....... probably should have put that in somewhere. Lincoln was a liberal in 1860, in context of the times, and he would be a liberal today and a Democrat. You do not know what a liberal is, so you project your reality on to Lincoln. All the pubs do that. So I get it that liberals have no fixed principles but follow society. You can be a liberal and own slaves if society says you can. You can be a liberal and push to get blacks out of the country. Learning so much from you, koan. Lincoln would have hated Trump and the Republican party today! Trump is scum .... every half-decent person would despise him.
