I have seen that done with a chalk line but you have to get it's head lined up just right. I have taken pigeons and tucked their head under a wing and spun them. They will sit on the ground for several minutes.

What does it see when it looks at the line? Do lines actually mean something to chickens?

>>Ever hypnotize a chicken? Put it's head down on the ground, and draw a line in the dirt starting at it's beak straight out. It will lie there looking at the line for minutes after you let go of it's head.

Said to work with Barbara Boxer too. Doesn't last as long as with Patsy Schroeder, though.
