Panels are mounted on a hillside that slopes 30 degrees to the water due south.and the panels are tilted to add up to 48 degrees. The same as my latitude. That's five miles of Puget Sound salt water due south.

Sounds like you have never worked with PV's.

I've been designing pv systems here in Western Washington for about forty years.

Many of us are off the grid, especially in the San Juans near the Canadian border. No fossil fuels required.

In the wintertime its easy to get to 120% of name plate rated capacity out of them on 15 F days at solar noon.

Around June 21st sun rises at 5:12 AM and sets at 9:11 PM

Many more hours of daylight up here than in California. A lot more power generated than is possible than in California or the equator during summer months.
