As an undergraduate student, I used to get a student discount for the "New Scientist" magazine. I read about the early two Helios satellites that studied the Suns magnetic field. The result came back not as expected, and there was an uncomfortable lack of more information at the time.

I remember that. Always wondered if we got the full story of what was uncovered.

and yes, with the fast moving pole shift of the Earth, who knows what is in store.

Your problem Eric is you think you know everything.

You don't.

But he's told us that he has multiple degrees in just about everything (except high school English). He's even studied Trump for 50 years. A self professed intellectual who's overly fond of himself. :-)

Regarding historical solar storms, the evidence of such solar eruptions that were much stronger than the Carrington event and are sure to reoccur, should be a wake up call (thanks for the links). Months long blackouts would mean a severe blow to our modern civilization. Lots of dead people. And people a lot smarter and more knowledgeable than our resident genius, Eric, have sounded the alarm that we are woefully unprepared for the next one.

And along these same lines, there is evidence that the earth is once again in the early stages of a magnetic pole reversal, with a concurrent weakening of our protective magnetosphere. Unlike the phony "climate crisis" hysteria, we'd better hope that the next major solar super eruption doesn't happen any time soon..

James,

I'll let you stick with your massively polluting Diesel semis.

Soon to join the "dust bin" of history.
