Mark, are you saying then that the middleware position will be more of a compenent/object server. If so, then isn't Informix following the Microsoft Transaction Server and Sybase Jaguar Component Transaction Server approach. I agree with the BEA Tuxedo comparison for the Universal Data Option that Informix offers. Sybase's Jaguar CTS is a Hybrid that supports both component/object server and TP functionality.

I agree there are many different types of middleware. Naturally I am more familiar with the SYBS offerings... <G>
