Hi Ibexx:

I know your a big Compaq fan but I have some gripes about the quality of the machines its selling.

We've just purchases 4 presarios and each one has a different problem. CD ROM dead in one, mouse in two and memory in the fourth. Not a good record. We're working around the problems for the next week until we're out of our crunch but if we had to do it over we'd go with DELL or Gateway. Better quality and service.

At some point this will catch up with the company. They're competing with Packard Bell on price and the quality is just as bad.

Thank you Ibexx, I think you may have a point about Ma-and-Pa shops.

Dell has a significant presence in large European corporations (Hoechst, BASF, etc.). But small business and pa-and-ma shops probably haven't seen much of it.
