Libya Eyes Oil Comeback Despite Political Divide
By Felicity Bradstock - Jan 26, 2024, 6:00 PM CST
Political instability has hindered Libya's oil production, but the country is eager to regain its energy prominence with a goal of reaching 2 million barrels per day.
Substantial foreign investment is required to modernize Libya's aging oil infrastructure, including pipelines and storage facilities.
Despite challenges, Libya's significant untapped oil reserves present a substantial opportunity for economic growth and energy sector revival.

Hillary emails revealed that Britain and France had NATO wage war to change over the government in Libya to take over the oil development contracts from Italy and China. Gaddafi had also agreed to allow Russia to establish a navel base over that of the US.

NATO invaded Libya after Gaddafi agreed to normalizing of diplomatic relations. Yet another country suffered a civil war due to US/NATO bringing in foreign militias to wage war. If the author had made a simple search of articles in the British press about the war, he would've found that US and 7 other countries had set up training camps for jihadist rebels around Sirte in Eastern Libya and the CIA annex in Benghazi was being used to run weapons and fighters to create more civil wars in Africa and Syria. Foreign governments set up armories around the CIA annex to receive the weapons and ship them to Syria by way of ports in Tripoli and Ceyhan, Turkey. The Benghazi incident forced Obama to sign an EO authorizing direct arms flow to Al Qaeda, Islamic State, FSA, and the other rebels. He also would've found that special forces were carrying out attacks as jihadist rebels in Libya while other rebel units had special forces officers embedded to provide command and coordination with NATO.

Russia may be the winner in Libya as in Niger and Mali since Russia has extensive experience in fighting Al Qaeda and Islamic State paramilitaries. The terrorism double game of the US and NATO can't be run forever in order to blackmail governments into allowing US bases. If the terrorists are really defeated, there is no further need for the bases. The governments will eventually ask the US or NATO to leave.
