So here in California we are told to hire illegal immigrants from the "Day Worker Center"

You were not "told". Only the government can tell you what to do, and even then you can refuse and take them to court. So this was misleading.

The proper context is that some none government agency that is dedicated to helping illegal immigrants is asking people to help the illegals by hiring from them.

This is irrelevant to the discussion because we were discussing government policies with regards to illegal immigration (the wall, vaccines, schools, etc).
