The problem with the graphics chip on the motherboard is that I am likely to want to upgrade the graphics board before I want to upgrade the motherboard. The board may have a provision for disabling the on-board video, but with AGP, somehow I doubt it.

It's the free market at work.

Perhaps they are beginning to understand in Taiwan how the U.S. TV industry felt when the TV manufacturing left the U.S. about 25 years ago and moved to Japan and Taiwan.
