The other house had a cast iron stove. Very efficient. I could burn wood in it or coal. I miss the one in my old house. My heating bill was zero and it really cranked out the BTUs. I've read that in some places in Scotland and Ireland they still burn peat. Free fuel if you cut it yourself. And it's rather sad that your beautiful country has become so polluted by those bird chopping windmill monstrosities. It's been decades since I last visited and I plan to return in the not too distant future..
