That makes sense, no? Of course if you think rationally for more than a few seconds, it wouldn't do much for healthy people as by the time the droplets are about to be inhaled by the healthy, they are dried out or mostly dry and infectious agents would easily pass through masks anyway. But what really pushed through the idea that "everyone must wear masks" is the idea which was first expressed in a well pre-covid Monty Python skit where someone was sick, but no symptoms - but he's assured that he has the disease, as "no symptoms" is one of the symptoms of the disease! Talk about prophetic. Or perhaps they took the blueprint from Dr. Python. Don't they know that the CO2 realized from so much gaslighting can affect the climate? Then the idea was to wear masks because you don't know if you have the disease or not - and to protect grandma, who is now dying anyway in the nursing home due to the number of actually sick people putting a significant concentration of covid in the air. Of course, later it was found, as expected, that there were actually few if any non-symptomatic people capable of shedding enough viral material to cause transmission. One of the causes of diseases passed is the exposure (concentration) of the infectious material - sure, given the health of an individual, some diseases require more exposure than others. One of the most virulent diseases, TB, a bacterial disease, requires exposure to at least ten TB bacterium, covid was supposed to be very virulent but not even close to TB. Exposure/ concentration matters in all cases. Poor nursing home grandmas. And so, in the politician's hands, the idea of blindly wearing masks spread out. Even when the politicians gave presentations, backstage they had to put on their mask when they appeared on stage, for show and removed them and partied around backstage after they were done.
