Eric, Your slapping an electric drive on top of an ICE. I've worked on enough of them over the years. So what? It works, it cheaper, and it's much better than an EV of similar size like the Chevy Bolt. I know that in theory, it seems like a waste to have that gas engine sitting alongside the electric motor. But Toyota has been making them work for over two decades now, and they help me reduce my "carbon shoe size" by a substantial amount. To be sure, though, maybe it's a Toyota thing. After all, Chevy tried with their plug-in hybrid, the Volt, but that got discontinued. Tenchusatsu
